Cannon has a long-standing reputation in the sale of commercial vehicles, and in engineering. However, the company has most recently diversified into the sale of plant and machinery. The company's aim was to supply keenly priced machines without compromising on quality and reliability.

With this in mind, the company embarked on meticulous research of the Chinese construction machinery sector. We have combed the market in order to source the best-built machines, and those which are most compatible with the domestic market.

Cannon finally formed an alliance with XCMG in 2006. Founded in 1989, Xuzhou Construction Machine Group (XCMG) is China's largest construction machinery manufacturer and the third largest in the world today. Its operations involve the development, manufacture, and distribution of construction machines.

Its impressive product portfolio includes over sixty different models in five different categories; compaction machinery, loading machinery, road surfacing machinery, road building machinery and cranes.

Over the past number of years, XCMG has established high-profile alliances with internationally renowned machinery manufacturers such as Caterpilliar(U.S.) , Liebherr (Germany), and Krupp (Germany).

XCMG machines incorporate off-the-shelf big-name parts and engines. All new machines are fitted with Cummins or Perkins engines at the Euro III emissions standard. Meritor or ZF axles are also available on the machines.

Cannon XCMG is now in a position to bring these world-class machines to the Irish and British markets, and to place the brand firmly on the map.
